BIO:

Lauren has been immersed in diversity and inclusion, advocacy and supporting women, Persons of Color (POC), and a champion for equity for as long as she can remember. While at George Mason University, she began working in Human Resources and Employee Relations, so she comes equipped with emotional intelligence, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and creative methods to facilitate a supportive birth experience.

She holds a dual degree in English, and Government and Politics, and has worked in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Sr. Human Resources Director in hospitals and healthcare administration before pursuing Doula certification. This work ignited her passion in eliminating health disparities and providing maternal support and education to minorities to improve delivery outcomes.

Lauren is DONA trained as a Birth Doula, where she completed breastfeeding support education as well. She is currently enrolled in Birth Arts International Postpartum Doula curriculum.

She is most proud to have a birth work foundation as diverse as the clients she seeks to serve, offering expertise in Childbirth Education Birthing Advocacy Doula Training (BADT) Full Spectrum Childbirth Education which emphasizes supporting LGBTQ, and Black Indigenous Persons of Color (BIPOC).

Lauren is proud to be Bonus mom to an amazing daughter and big sister, Skylar, mother to baby girl Ari, born at home with DCH support and midwifery care, and enjoys sharing life with her fiancé Paul.

One of Lauren’s greatest joys is working with survivors, supporting birthing persons after loss or those who have overcome fertility changes.

Lauren is a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Junior League.

Fun Facts:

Lauren’s favorites in 3’s: Sweet Tea, Pasta, Caribbean & Asian fusion cuisine (sushi lover). Waterfalls, Antique hunting and thrifting, and Art Collecting. Sunflower yellow, Pink tea rose, and apple green.
