Use Less Stuff
By Ashley Woolsey
It’s no secret that the number one greatest crisis in the world right now is the state of our environment and climate change. It seems pretty scary when you think about how much we have done to help impact this crisis, but if we all just take little steps to try and help improve it we can make a huge difference. Because babies grow so fast and change so much in their first few years, we really tend to waste a lot. Here are a few ideas to help use less stuff and think more environmentally conscious.
Consignment
Buying used is such a great option when it comes to kids clothes and even some gear. In their first 10 + years kids grow so fast they can usually outgrow an outfit after one season. Taking your gently used clothes to a consignment store puts some money in your pocket and refreshing your littles ones wardrobe with consigned clothes is better for the environment. Fashion is the second biggest polluter in the world so lessening the need for new fashion can have a huge impact. Here are some great local and high end consignment options for kids and maternity.

There are biodegradable options, however they still take months to degrade and even then aren't 100% degradable. Taking the extra time to learn how to cloth diaper can make a huge impact on our environment.
Make Your Own Baby Food
Making your own baby food means less waste from one time use containers that most baby food items come in. It also means you know exactly what is going into your little ones mouth because you bought the food and blended it yourself. It’s easy to make ahead and freeze your food too so that you can meal plan and you won't have to worry about finding the time to make it every day.
